It’s not like I can afford it (I can’t). But lord, do I want it! I’ve got an old Pontiac Grand Prix I can sell I suppose. This would make an excellent roundabout record car...

It seems rather odd that they would have only 1 image on a $40k listing. That being said, that one image is fiiiiiiine

Scroll down. They have them listed in the description, which is pretty common.

With that amount of power you might be able to beat the world record for longest drift in a roundabout. Longest drift record right now is 89.55 miles.

The big question is, how many kidneys do you have left, and in what kind of shape are they? :O

Both kidneys are good. I have my tonsils and wisdom teeth as well. I’m a donor recipient’s dream come true.

Yeah, the wheels would have to be replaced with something more period appropriate. Nothing wrong with 15" diameter wheels with fat tires. Halibrands (replicas of course) probably.

Get those wisdoms removed. You get put under and get high as fuck once the short proceedure is complete. Mine took 45 minutes.

This. Of course, the crew to change tires as well as all the tires themselves for the roundabout burnout record will be a significant investment too.

I mean...I’d be happy to help change tires for pizza and beer...but I can drink a fair amount of beer and am not known for being svelte.

Wow. 10/10 would hoon. Guy runs one (not sure of what replica company) in my local Autox. Always one of the top 3 fastest. Thing sounds amazing.

Have you ever sat in one? I’m 6'.5", and I was so cramped that I couldn’t take it.

Love the cars, but hate being in them.

I would love a Replica Shelby.

I can talk you out that. I’ve driven (and my buddy has professional wrench on) a variety of replicas over the years. I would avoid any kit based on the mustang underpinnings. Everyone of those we saw handled like shit. Many of them are put together pretty badly, too. If you want to do donuts, or practice spinning your way into off-course excursions, they are a superior a superior option for those two activities. The only replica I’ve seen that actually was both fun to drive and fast around a road course was based on the old Jaguar independent rear end with inboard mounted brakes. Look for one of those that has been put together well. Also, a 351 with aluminum heads tends to workout a lot better in the replicas, while still providing all the acceleration induced grins one could ever need.

With the caveat that I think drifting is crock of shit... I think a replica cobra running a jag rear end, a very moderately built 351 with aluminium heads and the wheel base lengthened by 6-12" would be the ultimate drift car. It would be light as hell, look sexy, sound sexy and drift to no end with a nice, linear NA power delivery that’ll run reliably for a very long time. For what the pro drift guys spend, they could wind up with something more controllable and whole lot sexier than what they usually run. They would also have to learn how to tune a carburetor.
